The travel story of a single parent!

I was 6 when my father passed away. Since then my mom has been my father. She is my Super-mom.
Personally, I was too little to understand what happened. In just a matter of few minutes, my mom’s life turned upside down. Sometimes, I ask her about her feelings pent up all throughout these years, but she wouldn’t tell me. She wouldn’t budge at any cost. And so even I discontinued this conversation.

What better display of emotions have I experience, if not for her regular day to day activities. Since then, yes, the place of a fatherly touch was left vacant, but my mom left no stone unturned to fill the space within bare minimum time. Such unconditional love! Such magnificent heart! Such brevity! People can just read and imagine the situation, but I, I have felt it so deep, that it pierced my heart to see the pain in the eyes of my mom, each passing day.

Her 50th birthday was due just a month back. It called for a grand silver jubilee celebrations. All throughout these years, she made sure that our birthdays (my small brother and mine) should be spent in the most satisfying way, the way we want it to be. So whether the occasion would call for throwing a friends-only birthday bash, an adventurous wonderla day or a day spent with orphanages, she ensured it right away. I now know why she did it. Taking a calculated guess with utmost precision, she trusted her gifted values to us. She knew how we would like to make every single counted doing what’s right and what the situation demanded. She worked hard as a working woman too. Penny by a penny, she would save. Penny by a penny, she would spend. After all, she is a Chartered Accountant but most importantly, she is a valued investor.

We thought of a plan. A thoughtful plan. We booked her a women’s only tour for 10 days. Why tours? Because she loves it.

Just a day prior to her birthday, we invited guests, relatives, close friends, her office colleagues and gifted her this self-funded trip along with huge celebration. Her journey started after 2 days, with proper packing, descriptive trip elaborations, guiding information, and everything that she longed for. Of course, the first thing she kept was our full family photo. Happy smiling faces with my father.
This trip added lot of happy memories itched in her heart forever. She made awesome friends during her travel. Since it was an all-women trip, the organizers ensured to make the trip as comforting as possible. Most efficient and humble people, that’s what my mom quoted back home. Fun activities along with brainstorming games were like a cherry on the cake. By the way, did I mention that they went to the holy city of Varanasi?

Indeed, that’s how the rule goes. Give the person what they most desire and you will receive countless blessings and a smart tag of an “understanding children” too.
