I am 40, married, mother of two kids and I am a traveler. What’s your excuse?

Let me guess, you have always wanted to travel but always backed out. I bet you must have lost count of the numerous excuses that you came up with every time a little voice inside your head said ‘I want to see the world!’

#Excuse 1: I am a woman and it is not safe to travel.

This does not even qualify as an excuse! When you Google or use any other search engine  with the words ‘female solo travel’ you will get one hundred and ninety-six million results and if you type ‘Women Only Travel’ it will return over one billion two hundred thirty million results! The statistics are starkly screaming out to you that women travelers are doing just fine and experiencing incredible moments in their lives. Yes, as a woman you have to do some homework and exercise that extra vigilance but at the end you get to explore the world! Women from all walks of life and some as old as 70 are travelling, making their dreams a reality.

‘The only trip you will regret is the one you didn’t take’

Before you venture into solo travel, try travelling in a women only travel group like ‘Women Special Tours’ to gain that inner confidence and zeal. Check them out https://womenspecialtours.com/

#Excuse 2:  I have kids/ pets/ adopted two aliens from Planet Neptune, I can’t leave them behind!

That guilt trip that you are on or are about to board – Snap out of it right now! This mindset just has to go! Ever feel like a burnt out mom? Does the idea of a week away (or even a night away) from your kids sound like a nightmare? Do you consider going for a movie and dinner to the nearest mall with your kids is the closest you can ever get to something called a weekend holiday?   (I can already hear buzzing ‘YES’s’) Because I have been through that phase and am still alive!  And yet you are still another restless soul yearning for a peaceful, relaxing break.  My dear Amigas….what you badly need is ‘ME TIME’! A little ‘me time’ to get away, to rest and rejuvenate and allow yourselves to be recharged. It is so therapeutic!  I have loads of tips for you to plan your guilt free getaway to the tee. More on that in the upcoming blog! For all you pet owners, you too need to give yourself a chill pill-  Have your pet taken care of by professional sitters, ask a neighbor, friend  or family member or take the last option of a kennel, boarding facility or pet hotel.

‘Believe in Travel Therapy’

#Excuse 3: Travel needs a lot of planning, I’m too lazy.

Yes it can be a bit tedious but it is EXCITING TOO! And how! It takes seconds and is just a few APPs away. Like in Women Special Tours travel company you just leave it to the travel designers to plan out an incredible itinerary for you! Your laziness is actually your reluctance to travel and comes with other reasons attached to it. Whatever those reasons are, they are downright silly! Or in a more harsh way let me state that you are a person with no ambition. You have got to change that attitude and your keyword is ACTION. Just step out of your comfort zone and you are just a few steps from your dream destination!

‘The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page’

#Excuse 4:  I am too old to travel.

Utter Nonsense.  The minute you use age as an excuse, you might as well get dentures and a walker and just give up hope. The truth is when you travel you get to meet a lot of people you can connect with regardless of age.  It is never too late to travel! I know of travel bloggers way into their 60s and still traveling and making their dreams a reality.
