How I met my co-founder

“One café latte with one spoon sugar and high caffeine, please,” I asked the waiter.
“Please bring the same for me too,” my co-traveler said instantaneously.

With a group of 8 women, I was to travel the land of Kutch, Gujarat, for next 10 days. Now, travel for me was one way to relax and refresh after continuously working in the cluttered metro cities. One has to rejuvenate too, right? And that made me book my tickets instantly in “Women special tours” and here I am on my first day, all excited and pumped up to savor as much pleasure I can. Time was limited.
First on the list was Lothal, a Harappan period archaeological site and one of the southernmost cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. Not very well known by tourists, since it doesn’t relate well to flashy, decorative and crowd- thriving place which is usually demanded by Indians. But somehow, my historic group was curious about this place, and secretly I was too, so we headed towards studying the place. I saw my co-traveler taking a deep interest. Maybe she is overly enthusiastic, I thought. Surprisingly, her curiosity became our curiosity too in no time. The art, the science, the history, the smell of the place, made us quite like an awestruck creature on this planet, or so I felt. I never knew someone can be so passionate about knowing history, the subject I particularly dreaded the most in my childhood days. Did you too? Haha
Up next was Sabarmati Ashram. I chuckle to say that I hated politics. That kept me away from knowing more about the past of my country. And so, I would often skip news pages to just ignore the political headlines, as if it never existed. But my co-traveler believed in another perception. We had a huge debate while returning to our hotel. In the evening, while quietly sitting in my room, I pondered upon what points did she keep on the table regarding our rich history, that why youths should actively spend constructive time on reading legendary novels, our heritage, our culture, how Hinduism is a way of living and not a religion. Of course, I refuted it with utmost intelligence, but perhaps she outshined with her heavy opinion, an opinion that not just paved way to new perceptions, but also lead to breaking my own limiting thoughts. Those thoughts were hindering my growth to be a matured person. It was one of those “Aha moments” for me. I could not sleep that night.

I started noticing her from then. She was sharp, a non-conformist and a rebel for good. She had clear concepts about living life and leading in life. I just could not resist myself observing every little activity that she did. It actually stood out quite clearly from the herd and there came a moment when I decided to give her a proposal. A business proposal!
She agreed, at once.

Today, we run a company together. Yes, we do brainstorm as before, more voraciously but in the end, that’s what keeps us going and our company growing.

My women's’ only tour proved to be lucky, indeed!
