What I chose to do after Grade 12

You know you are a board student when every tiniest activity of external world seems amazingly interesting to your senses. It’s like you suddenly have all the curiosity to even watch playful pigeons for hours and not getting even slightly bored. Oh, how can you forget those meandering ants? My favorite pass-time. And then there are few disguised-from-everyone checklist one makes that definitely needs to be ticked off after exams. Join a Dance class, party with friends, mall visits, park fun, movies, gossips and what not! Just ask a boarder her list, and she will display her best hand-written long pager, so long that you wouldn’t doubt her answer writing capacity for sure. Haha. But guess what tops the chart?

Trips. Long Drives. Travel. New place. And Ultimately, Nirvana.

I am Ishika and I am one such of a travel freak. Travel is like a wine, the more you sip, the more you relish. No, No, I am just 17 and I haven’t tasted it yet, but that’s what people say, right? I am more of a relaxing and soul-searching kind of person, to be frank. I love going places and I absolutely love local culture. I like being with the shopkeepers, chatting with them, knowing about their lifestyle, their inspiring stories, and their hidden dreams. “Someday, I’ll open my own supermart” I remember a grocer man saying with such dreamy conviction-filled eyes. These beautiful instances remind me of something supreme, that howsoever challenging life gets, one should never stop dreaming but constantly chase what you believe in
.
Likewise, I did too. Once my boards were done, I immediately booked my tickets to a place full of beaches - Andaman and Nicobar. Of course, that was meant as a family trip at the first place, but as my luck would have it, my parents had to back out of the plan due to the family emergency. God! Why are emergencies so urgent? Why this contingency has to happen bang on the time when everything was going perfectly?  I cribbed. My elder sister too, but she had some bigger and crazy plans. I was bent on having a refreshing time at all cost and so she just like a diplomat would do, devised out a way to enjoy the trip without parents yet with full safety. A company named “Women Special Travel” organizes a women-only trip- Same destination-new people-Female only-Awesome services.

Phew! She can be brilliant sometimes, only sometimes. Haha.

Our trip went awesome. I think awesome would just underrate its glory. It was just as fulfilling as I desperately wanted to be. My sister and me. The soul sisters ultimately had their own joyous share of time. My parents? Oh, they are just not scared and why would they be? Their inhibitions were all met and so they chose to let the girls out on their own.
After all, we are Papa’s Brave Princesses.
