The Office Working Women

Hello there, I’m a married woman and opposite to what many might think I work both as a professional worker and as a housewife. I was always ambitious since I was a small girl. Today I work in a multinational company and earn a good satisfying salary.

The world is changing but when I was a small girl, the thinking of every elder was that girls should start learning household work since the very beginning because that’s what a girl is supposed to do. Thankfully, I had parents who taught me every household work but never told me what I would or should do in the future. I was very competitive about my studies and grades. I earned my degree and got a job that I really aspired to do when I was young.

I married at the age of 28 and my in-laws didn’t have any problem with me working out of the house. My husband always encouraged me and supported me through everything. You may be thinking I’m bragging about myself. Well, I’m not. Even though I take pride in what I do but that’s not why I’m telling you these things. The thing is even though I got a job I love, there is still a lot of stuff that goes on in my mind. We all have different things that bother us and stress us out. Well for me it’s the balance between home and work. I have a 4-year-old kid and I felt I owe it to him that I’m there for him every time. But I also wanted to work because I love what I do. There’s a maid for preparing meals and doing daily household stuff but sometimes I wanted to cook for my husband and my in-laws. But whatever I do, no matter how hard I try there’s always something that slips away. This stuff started stressing me out too much and I knew I needed a break. Not from my married life, but from the monotonous schedule that I had started hating.

So one day this friendly neighbor girl came around who treats me like her big sister, and told me about this all women tour. About 12 of our colony’s women were going for the trip. I knew I had to break my monotonous schedule somehow and this felt like the perfect opportunity. I knew that I had to take permission from my husband and in-laws. But as it was an “All Women” tour, no one had any objection.

Believe me or not a trip, even a short one, can do wonders to a stressed mind. Travelling is like a get away from the daily routine. It makes you calmer. After having a successful and peaceful trip, you can go back to your life with a lot of new ideas and perspectives towards many of your life problems. It’s been many months since I first went for that all women trip. And since then it has been the best way for me to solve the problems of my daily life.
